Ganadores Óscars 2023: Everything Everywhere All at Once es la mejor película del año
La fiebre por los multiversos y los dramas familiares arrasó en la edición 95 de los Premios Óscar, resultando la gran ganadora de la noche Everything Everywhere All at Once, con siete victorias, incluyendo mejor película, dirección, guion original y edición. Detrás de sí quedaron The Banshees of Inisherin, TÁR y The Fabelmans, que terminaron la noche sin estatuillas. En segundo lugar, en términos de palmarés, quedó All Quiet on the Western Front, la cual se llevó cuatro de las nueve nominaciones a las que aspiraba, entre ellas el premio muy codiciado a mejor película internacional, dejando en el camino a la favorita latinoamericana, Argentina, 1985.
Una noche sin contratiempos que contrastó con la ceremonia del año pasado en la que vimos coronados a los ídolos populares Michelle Yeoh, Brendan Fraser, Ke Huy Quan y Jamie Lee Curtis, cuyos reconocimientos parecen dirigirse más a sus carreras que sus interpretaciones particulares. En el caso de Fraser y Quan, sus premios llegan después de haber sido rechazados por la industria hollywoodense después de carreras promisorias, mientras que para Yeoh y Curtis sus estatuillas son la culminación de largas carreras transcurridas en los márgenes de la respetabilidad (de acuerdo con la Academia): en el cine de género, de acción y artes marciales y de terror, respectivamente.
Guillermo del Toro se convirtió en el primer director mexicano en recibir un Óscar por mejor película animada por Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio, así como la primera persona en recibirlo por este rubro y como Mejor director (La forma del agua en 2018). Asimismo, destaca la victoria de Sarah Polley en mejor guion original por su trabajo en Women Talking, una de las mejores victorias de la noche.
