Ganadores Óscars 2022: CODA es la mejor película de 2021
¿Acaso fue esta la peor ceremonia de los Premios Óscar de la historia? Lo que comenzó mal con la entrega de ocho premios antes de la transmisión oficial (los cuales fueron editados torpemente para ser incluidos en la ceremonia), terminó en shock cuando Will Smith golpeó a Chris Rock para minutos después ganar el Óscar a mejor actor. Difícil reponerse de eso. Honestamente, todo lo que sucedió después fue una especie de frenesí borroso en el que la sección de In Memoriam se presentó en un montaje acompañado de un coro en vivo de mal gusto, Jane Campion ganó el único premio para The Power of the Dog, Jessica Chastain se llevó el premio a mejor actriz por The Eyes of Tammy Faye y CODA se alzó como la mejor película del año.
Sin duda, el experimento que representó la entrega de estos premios dejó mal sabor de boca, pero entre las cosas positivas de la noche están la victoria de Troy Kotsur como mejor actor de reparto por CODA, Drive my Car como mejor película internacional (a pesar de que silenciaron groseramente el discurso de Ryusuke Hamaguchi), No Time to Die como mejor canción original y The Long Goodbye como mejor corto (aunque no pudimos ver la reacción de Riz Ahmed, dado que la Academia editó terriblemente su momento de victoria). Pocas fueron las sorpresas realmente emocionantes.
Lo que sí, vale la pena celebrar que por primera vez en la historia dos mujeres ganan el premio a mejor dirección de manera seguida (el año pasado, Chloé Zhao y este año Jane Campion) y dos películas dirigidas por mujeres ganan el premio mayor de manera consecutiva (el año pasado, Nomadland y este año CODA, dirigida por Siân Heder).
Dune lideró el tablero de premios con seis victorias: edición, sonido, diseño de producción, fotografía, banda sonora y efectos visuales. CODA le siguió con tres premios: película, actor de reparto y guion adaptado. Belfast ganó su único premio con mejor guion original.
Ariana DeBose dio uno de los discursos más bonitos de la noche al ganar el premio a mejor actriz de reparto por West Side Story. De igual forma, Troy Kotsur conmovió con sus palabras.
