Asociación de Críticos de Washington, D.C. anuncia nominaciones: Minari lidera con ocho menciones y tres películas latinoamericanas figuran
La Asociación de críticos de Cine del área de Washington, D.C. (WAFCA por sus siglas en inglés) anunció las películas y artistas nominados a sus reconocimientos a lo mejor de 2020. Esta Asociación se jactó por años de ser la que más se sincronizaba a las premiaciones de los premios Óscar, aunque últimamente esa tendencia ha cambiado.
Minari lidera la carrera con ocho nominaciones, incluyendo en las categorías de mejor película, dirección, actor, actriz de reparto, elenco, actuación juvenil, guion original y banda sonora. Por su parte, la categoría de mejor dirección estuvo dominada por mujeres, pues Emerald Fennell, Chloé Zhao, Kelly Reichardt y Regina King fueron destacadas en la categoría.
Por último, vale la pena mencionar que tres películas latinoamericanas figuraron en la categoría de mejor película internacional: La llorona, Bacurau y El agente topo. Estas son acompañadas por la danesa Another Round y la marfileña Night of the Kings.
